Official Statement on Selection as Preferred Bidder 

for Czech Nuclear Power Project

  The Federation of Korean Industries (FKI) highly welcomes the selection of Team Korea led by Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (KHNP), as the preferred bidder for constructing new nuclear power plants in the Czech Republic.

  Securing this nuclear power plant project is a notable achievement in the Czech Republic's manufacturing powerhouse, serving as a strategic foothold for entering the European market. This success is attributed to the collaboration between our companies, known for their price competitiveness and on-time construction capabilities, and the steadfast support of the Korean government.

  This milestone is anticipated to further enhance the overall economic and industrial cooperation between South Korea and the Czech Republic, encompassing trade, investment, science and technology, and energy sectors. FKI will also strengthen its engagement and cooperation with the Czech economic sector.

  Moreover, exporting the entire nuclear power ecosystem—from design to construction, operation, and maintenance—significantly bolsters our nuclear power competitiveness. This is expected to accelerate future international contracts for K-nuclear power.

  The selection as the preferred bidder is a testament to the joint efforts of the Korean government, KHNP, private enterprises, and nuclear power experts. We hope for a smooth negotiation process leading to the signing of the final contract.
