Dialogue With The Hon. Condoleezza Rice, 

66th U.S. Secretary of State

  On July 2, FKI Chairman Jin Roy Ryu held a dialogue with The Honorable Condoleezza Rice, the 66th U.S. Secretary of State, at the FKI Tower Conference Center. The dialogue with the former secretary was the inaugural event for the FKI-Poongsan Lecture Series. Through this series, the Federation of Korean Industries (FKI) and Poongsan Group will invite global opinion leaders to share their insights.

  Over 170 people attended the dialogue with Secretary Rice, including businesspeople, university students and academics. Mong-joon Chung, honorary chairman of The Asan Institute for Policy Studies, Young-kwan Yoon, Former Foreign Minister of South Korea, Jung-han Lee, chairwoman of the Korean Women Entrepreneurs Association, Rae-eun Sung, vice chairman of Youngone Trading, Hyun Woo Shin, head of strategy at Hanwha, and Han-sang Park, vice chairman of KPI Group were in attendance.

  “It is truly meaningful to be able to hear from one of the most distinguished experts on U.S. diplomacy with the next presidential election now just four months away,” said FKI Chairman Jin Roy Ryu in his opening remarks.

  During the dialogue between Dr. Rice and Chairman Ryu, Dr. Rice touched on the future of the ROK-U.S. alliance, her views on the upcoming election, the trajectory of the Russo-Ukrainian war, and other global issues. Secretary Rice also talked about experiences and gave advice on leadership for the many young people who attended the event. FKI will host more events like this with global leaders in the future.
